First 5k! Yay me!

Race for Red!! I did my first 5k yesterday. No, I wasn’t amazing but it felt so good. I finished! My trainer said we don’t have anything to compare it to since its our first so after this one, we can always improve and set new goals! I want to run now. Tyson and I are looking into more 5k’s we can do this summer! This is huge for us. We have never been nor wanted to be runners. I love how our dates have turned into working out, going on a walk, and playing at the park with our cute kiddos! I love how this challenge has changed us for the better. I feel so much better about myself! I love the people we met that helped us and encouraged us along the way. I love how the group of contestants have bonded and become friends! They are some amazing people who have been an inspiration to me! I love talking to them and learning their tips and advice how they are being successful! I hope some of us stay in contact and continue to feed off each others successes! Love 100 day heart challenge!!!!!

Nearing the 100 days :(

I fully planned on being great about blogging our journey but have failed miserably! It has been hard to find the time. But I thought I better say what a great thing this has been for Ty and I. We have loved every step of the way and can I say we both now LOVE to work out. I love the way I feel. I love seeing the changes in my health and in my body. No, the scale isn’t where I wanted it by now but feel like it is coming but that the scale isn’t the way to measure my health and success. I have a lot more energy through out the day than I did before we did this. I enjoy eating healthier and making better choices. I love that I am sleeping better at night. I love my clothes are looser. I love how I feel about myself. I love how it has changed our family for thebetter. I can’t believe how this journey has helped us! My plans and goals had to change a few times along the way but has helped me so much. We have felt to lucky to be picked and to experience thisbut also just want others to start making good choices for their own lives. We are blessed to have been able to work with such amazing people who have pushed us and helped us improve ourselves. Our trainer Emily has been nothing short of amazing and has helped me through some very hard personal things that have happened during the 100 days.
At first I was sad thinking that we are nearing the end of the 100 days but now realize this will continue for us. We only learned tools to carry with us so that it is healthy lifestyle. I already set new goals for the next 100 days following the challenge. I am excited to see the new changes we have adapted to our lives and where it will lead us!
If any one ever reads this and is even contemplating signing up or trying to start a new workout or eating healthy, my advice is….DO IT! You will not regret it. Love yourself enough to take care of you. Your worth it!!!! Little things all add us. You will be surprised how much progress you will make in such a little amount of time! ;)

My legs hate Emily

Did I say I was excited for our workout with Emily yesterday? I am crazy! Our workout was good, and HARD! I loved that she pushed us but man I am feeling it today. My legs (especially my thighs) are so tired/sore. Ouch! I hope I won’t be having to climb too many stairs today!!!!

Training

Meeting again with our trainer tonight and I am really exicted! On Friday my muscles felt sore and tired. A good feeling except when I bent over to pick up kids toys. I could feel it all down my legs. Wowza. Good work out Emily.
Also, I am so proud of myself for week 1!!! I made sure I did my 30 minutes of cardio each day and can tell a difference in just one week in my endurance. My elliptical usually kicks my butt twenty minutes in and I have increased in time and resistance. Anyone can do this! I hope I can help just one person realize they can do it and no matter what shape your in…start now! Keep with it and it will get easier for you.

Excitement!!!!

Wow! What a week full of nerves and excitement. I found out I got picked for the challenge last Thursday and was more than thrilled! I knew this was what Tyson and I needed to get out butts in shape and start making better choices for our health!
I was nervous for the start but knew this was the best thing for us instead of always thinking we will start tomorrow. We had our first nutrition class this morning and I left feeling encouraged and great. It is something everyone can do. It’s not some crazy “diet” that you can only stick with for so long. It’s a lifestyle change and how to make better choices for our health. Loved it! Full of great information and tips. I have never met with a dietician and absolutely loved all the information she had for us including individual meal plans to help us reach our goals and live a happy, healthy, life!
Then tonight we had our first training workout! I was more than nervous to go but left feeling encouraged, inspired and ENERGIZED! I CAN DO THIS! Traci is amazing and full of knowledge and hooked us up with the best trainer, Emily!!!!! Love her already! However, maybe after a while and she is kicking our bums in shape my feelings might change! Hehe I think she is going to be a rock star and push us and help us better our health AND reach our goals! Loved every second of that workout with them! Can’t wait to see what next 100 days brings us!
And I have to add….one of my favorite parts about this challenge is to have my hubby on board doing it with me! I think it is so great to have his support! ;)
